Policing teams in the Ermine estate in Lincoln have issued a warning to residents after a spike of shed burglaries.

Officers received a number of shed break-in reports between January 7 and 9. Many of which involved thieves making off with lawn mowers and other tools and machinery.

The neighbourhood policing team said: “Overnight on January 7 on Honington Crescent a lawn mower, strimmer and hedgecutter were stolen.

“Overnight on January 8 on Welton Gardens a lawnmower was taken.

“A number of sheds were broken into but nothing was taken, this happened between January 8 and 9, usually overnight, on Breedon Drive, Riverton View, Sanders Close, Clarendon Gardens and Waddingworth Grove.

“Please be aware of anyone acting suspicious and if you have any information regarding any shed breaks please contact Lincolnshire Police on 101.”

Residents are being advised to make sure their sheds are secure and if possible shed alarms and security lights are installed.
