A man has been hospitalised with serious head injuries after being assaulted inside a taxi in Cleethorpes.

The victim picked up a taxi from the rank close to Pepi’s Pizza and Kebab House at around 3.15am on Sunday, February 26 before he was attacked.

He was initially taken to the Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital and later transferred to Hull Royal Infirmary, where he is undergoing treatment.

The offender is believed to be a man who left the scene shortly after the assault.
