An 82-year-old woman has had money from her bedroom stolen after a burglar broke into her home.

The break-in occurred at some point between 9am and 11am on Friday, February 17 on The Ridgeway in Grimsby.

A spokesperson for Humberside Police said: “Luckily, the woman was not home at the time of the break-in but has been left shaken by the incident.

“We are particularly keen to speak to a man seen in the area at around this time, who was carrying a ladder and a sweeping brush.

“He is described as around 5ft 4in and of slim build. He wore a black duffel coat and hooded jacket.”
