Plans for a new Lincolnshire Co-op convenience store and pharmacy near Boston have been submitted.
If given the green light, the former Capel Lodge in Swineshead would be demolished in order to build the new store from scratch, creating 14 new jobs.
Plans include space for 25 cars with a total shop space of 506 sq m.
The application proposes opening times of 7am to 11pm seven days a week.
Lincolnshire Co-op, which has been trading since 1861, currently operates 83 food stores and over 100 other outlets across the county including post offices, non food stores, pharmacies, funeral homes, coffee shops, travel branches and motor dealerships.
The application for the store states: “The aim of the proposed convenience food store is to provide a local facility aimed at satisfying the needs of the residents of Swineshead.
“Retail guidance at all levels recognises the importance of providing local shops within easy walking distance of the local community.
“This is particularly important for the less mobile members of the public.”
