A Spalding man has admitted inciting underage girls to engage in sexual activity after his computer was examined.

Roy Hayes, 44, pleaded guilty to three sexual offences when he appeared at Lincoln Crown Court on Monday, March 20.

The first offence related to Hayes inciting a 13-year-old girl to engage in sexual activity on April 7, 2014.

Hayes also admitted a second charge of inciting a 14-year-old girl to engage in sexual activity on October 11, 2012.

The third offence related to Hayes attempting to incite a 15-year-old girl to engage in sexual activity on July 30, 2014.

Michael Cranmer-Brown, prosecuting, said the offences came to light after Hayes pleaded guilty to making indecent images and his computer equipment was further analysed by police.

Mr Cranmer-Brown said: “Video footage recovered from his computer made it perfectly plain he was in contact with under-age girls and getting them to do things to themselves for his own sexual gratification.”

Chat logs recovered by the police suggested Hayes had an interest in under-age girls, the court was told.

Mr Cranmer-Brown added: “These offences make it a much more serious case.”

Hayes, of Gaunt Close, Spalding, was granted bail until May 19 when he will be sentenced at Lincoln Crown Court.

Judge Simon Hirst agreed to adjoun sentence for the preparation of a probation report but warned Hayes he would now have to comply with the sex offenders register.

The judge told Hayes: “You have pleaded guilty to serious matters here.

“I am concerned about you in terms of what risk you might pose to children, so I would like a report on you.”
