A woman has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving after an 11-year-old boy was hit by a car in Lincoln this morning.

The collision happened at around 7.50am on Wednesday March 1, when a boy was hit by a car on Riseholme Road.

The boy (previously reported by police as 13 years of age) was on foot when he was involved in the crash with a car near to the Lincoln Imp pub.

He was taken to Lincoln County Hospital. Police have said that injuries do not appear to be “too serious” at the time of writing.

The female driver of the car was arrested for failing a roadside breath test and is currently in custody.

The collision is being dealt with under incident number 47 of March 1.
