A man accused of carrying out a burglary at the home of an elderly Gainsborough man has been further remanded in custody following a hearing at Lincoln Crown Court.

Clinton Sentance, 36, appeared in court via video link.

No plea was taken from him at today’s hearing and he spoke only to confirm his identity.

Sentance, who is from Gainsborough, is charged with aggravated burglary at a property in Portland Terrace, Gainsborough, on the evening of 19 March this year.

He was charged following an incident in which a 75-year-old man reported that an intruder had broken into his home and tied him up.

The man reported that his mobile had been taken along with his wallet and bank card and he had been forced to disclose his PIN number.

The man suffered hand injuries in his attempts to free himself.

Judge Michael Heath remanded Sentance in custody to appear back before the Crown Court for a further hearing by video link on May 9.

Sentance has also been charged with aggravated burglary at a house in Ropery Road, Gainsborough, on March 19 and a second aggravated burglary the following day at South Street, Morton, near Gainsborough.

He has been charged with two offences of robbery in Gainsborough.

Sentance is due to appear before Lincoln Magistrates later this week to face all four charges.
