Over 1,500 Scouts, Brownies and Guides paraded through uphill Lincoln to celebrate St George’s Day today.

The annual parade, which took place on Sunday, April 23, saw Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers, Network, Leaders, Brownies and Guides make their way through the city.

The group assembled in the Lawn, Union Road, along with flags and a band before parading to the castle and around Lincoln before finishing at the Lawn.

A spokesperson from the Lincoln District Scouts group said: “The story of St George focuses on an individual taking positive action for the good of the whole community.

“Being visible and proud and enacting the values in the community is central to Scouting’s aims and values.”
