Five candidates are standing to become the next MP for Brigg and Goole in the general election on June 8.

Conservative candidate Andrew Percy will be seeking to win a third successive parliamentary election in the constituency.

Percy won the constituency in 2010 – the first time the Conservatives were successful in the seat since its creation in 1997.

The Northern Powerhouse minister defeated Labour’s Ian Cawsey by 5,147 votes on a 9.8% swing.

In 2015, Percy increased his majority to 11,176.

Percy will face a challenge this time from Labour’s Terence Smith.

David Jeffreys will once again stand for UKIP, having won 6,694 votes in 2015.

Jerry Lonsdale will fight the seat for the Liberal Democrats, with the Green Party fielding Isabel Pires as its candidate.
