Forget heading down south for the warm weather, according to latest figures, Lincoln is the ninth warmest city in the UK, ranking warmer than Nottingham, Coventry and St Albans.

The figures, released in a study by Freeflush, have been collated through the Met Office and has ranked cities by warmth using a single combined metric based on maximum average temperature, dry days and total rainfall.

The top ten warmest cities in the UK include:

  1. London
  2. Cambridge
  3. Chelmsford
  4. Worcester
  5. Canterbury
  6. Peterborough
  7. Wakefield
  8. Oxford
  9. Lincoln
  10. York
