Visitors to Lincoln were able to witness parades through the city thanking service men and women for their loyalty to the country.

The day began at 10am on Saturday, June 24 with a flag raising and standard parade, with members of the civic party, including the new MP Karen Lee, in attendance.

Shoppers were able to meet members of the armed forces including the Royal Air Force (RAF), the Royal Navy, and the Army – along the High Street and at The Cornhill.

Military vehicles, musical entertainment, and charities encouraging visitors to support the armed forces and the work they do also attended the festivities.

Bands performed throughout the day, with a marching display by the RAF Waddington Pipe and Drums.
