Diners at the restaurant were able to choose from a hand-selected menu and, as well as a glass of prosecco on arrival, they received a signed copy of Marco’s new book – Essentially Marco.
The restaurant offers a mix of English and French classics, alongside a range of 28-day aged native breed steaks and provides 100 covers.
Marco told The Lincolnite: “I’ve only ever been through Lincoln, I’ve never actually been here before but where are you going to get a better venue than here?
“The scenery here is extraordinary, it’s very nice to see greenery. I like all the narrow boats [on the Brayford], I would like to see more of them.”

When asked his favourite dish, Marco said he liked simple, yet filling food.
He added: “I’ll be quite honest, I like simplistic food, I do like something as simple as a slow cooked shoulder of lamb or roast chicken.
“I’m not into small portions, I like to get stuck in and just have one big generous course and then maybe just some cheese to mop it up.”
Darren Cant, Operations Director at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Lincoln said: “The Marco Pierre White Steakhouse, Bar and Grill has been an amazing success since it opened last year and it’s fantastic that not only did Marco visit us, he also hosted this special lunch.”

North Kesteven District Council was forced back to the drawing board on its £1 million proposal to transform the area and “reshape the town’s heart” at last month’s planning committee. Now, the plans are back up for approval on Tuesday.
Proposals to close the Springcliffe Surgery in Lincoln’s St Catherines area have emerged, citing several compelling reasons including declining patient numbers, old infrastructure, and escalating operational costs.
Springcliffe Surgery, a branch of the larger Brant Road Surgery, currently serves a fraction of the combined 9,000 patients – providing only 20 weekly appointments compared to the main site’s 550.
