A murder investigation has been launched after a man’s body was found in Scunthorpe town centre.

Humberside Police have formally identified Scunthorpe man Kyle Bell as the body found in the early hours of July 4 on Mary Street in the town.

The post mortem has confirmed that the 25-year-old died of stab wounds.

Specialist officers are working with the family.

A police spokesperson said: “Our teams are working hard to identify the person, or persons, responsible for this crime and are continuing to follow a number of lines of enquiry.

“We are interested to hear from anyone with information that could assist our investigation and are particularly keen to speak to anyone who saw the victim in the days or hours leading up to the incident.”
