Police officers confirm ‘major incident’ at Stainby Quarry

Lincolnshire Police officers have confirmed that there is a major incident ongoing at Stainby Quarry south of Grantham.

One of our reporters has spoken to officers at the scene of the quarry on Crabtree Road, west of Colsterworth and north-east of the village of Buckminster.

Police have refused to say what the incident involves.

However, a police drone has been deployed, along with at least three police cars, two collision investigation vans, and an unmarked red Ford with a blue light.

Five officers wearing police jackets are guarding the entrance, and there are additional staff in the vans.

A police press office spokesperson said: “We are dealing with an incident at the Quarry on Crabtree Road, there is no road closure and we will update with further details when we can.”
