A restricted parking zone will come into force between Broadgate and Wilkinson’s next week.
As a result, from Tuesday, July 18, there will be no parking or loading allowed at any time within the area, except within the marked bays.
However, the proposals do include disabled parking spaces for blue badge holders.
Local businesses, the police and city council have been consulted in advance of the changes being introduced by Lincolnshire County Council.
Jeanne Gibson, programme leader – minor works, said: “The changes are designed to complement the redevelopment of this part of town, creating a more attractive environment for shoppers.
“This area can get quite congested at the moment, so the changes should also help improve access for delivery vehicles and the emergency services.”
The restrictions will be trialled for six months during which time objections and representations may be submitted to:

Anyone who does a lap of Lincoln High Street will have noticed a number of odd tarmac fillings on the pedestrianised area, which stick out like a sore thumb given how they are weaved between brickwork and cobbled areas.
