Two single mums and man caught on CCTV fighting outside Boston nightclub sentenced

Three people who became involved in a large fight at a Boston nightclub were given suspended jail sentences by a judge.

Single mothers Demi Healey, 23, and Ayla Carlon, 19, were enjoying a rare night out together when they became involved in disorder at the Goldfinger club in Craythorne Lane.

Terry Raggo, 38, who did not know the two women, was also caught on CCTV during the violence on October 16 last year, Lincoln Crown Court heard.

Mark Watson, prosecuting, said: “There was a large scale fight or fights which broke out at 4am on Sunday, October 16.

“Each defendant got involved in their own way in various pockets. It was caught on camera inside and outside the club.”

Mr Watson told the court Healey, a qualified hairdresser and waitress with a three-year-old son, was seen pushing and punching a man and throwing a bottle without much force which she picked up from the bar.

Carlon, who is the sole carer for a son with various medical difficulties, was shown repeatedly stamping on a man and then kicking another clubber in the back.

Raggo, who is also a parent, was seen throwing two or three punches and also swore at police.

When interviewed by police Healey said she was acting in defence of her friend.

The court heard Healey now accepted having too much to drink and was very remorseful.

Lisa Hardy, mitigating for Carlon, said she was virtually a prisoner in her own home because of the time she spent caring for her son and had only been out socially twice since he was born.

Neil Sands, mitigating for Raggo, said he immediately apologised to the police after being shown the CCTV.

Mr Sands added: “Quite simply he wishes he had never been there.”

Passing sentence on all three defendants, who pleaded guilty to affray, Recorder William Harbage QC said he was only sparing them custody because they had no history of violence.

The Recorder told them: “In October you involved yourselves in a large scale disorder at the Goldfinger club in Boston. I have seen the CCTV and it is clear a large number of people were involved.”

Healey, of Elizabeth Road, Boston, was sentenced to four months imprisonment, suspended for a year, 120 hours of unpaid work and must pay £250 costs.

Carlon, also of Elizabeth Road, Boston, was sentenced to six months youth detention suspended for a year, a three month curfew between 8pm and 7am, and must pay £100 costs.

Raggo, of Fenside Road, Boston, was sentenced to four months imprisonment, suspended for a year, 120 hours of unpaid work and must pay £250 costs.
