Boston and Skegness MP Matt Warman has given his views on topics ranging from Brexit to BBC pay and press regulation during a live chat with Lincolnshire Reporter.

Watch our interview with the Conservative MP here:

Take a read of the five things we found out from the interview:

  1. He said that he believes that the reason he increased his majority substantially at the general election was because of a combination of people turning away from UKIP and also liking the message Theresa May was putting forward, even though that message went down badly in other areas. However, he would not go so far as to thank former UKIP leader Paul Nuttall for his election victory.
  2. The Conservative MP said that there was a very good case for revealing the salaries of BBC employees who are paid significant amounts of money. He said that there was no justification for a gender pay gap at any level, locally or nationally.
  3. Regarding Brexit, he said that delivering on ending free movement of people and coming out of the customs union was essential as that was what people voted for.
  4. He said that there were problems with both major press regulators, IMPRESS and IPSO. He believes that we will get to a position where the press is comfortable with the level and method of regulation.
  5. In terms of being Chancellor Warman or Prime Minister Warman sometime in the future, the Boston and Skegness MP said that we should be careful what we wish for.
