His family described him as a “sensitive, confident and full of life” young man.

Family have paid tribute to Lewis Harrison Hopewell, the 18-year-old man who died at the scene of a crash on the A46 on Wednesday, September 27.

Nottinghamshire Police confirmed a blue Seat Ibiza travelling towards Newark left the dual carriageway between the Showground and Winthorpe Island.

His family described him as a “sensitive, confident and full of life” young man. Below is their tribute in full.

“Beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend to all that knew him, Lewis will be greatly missed for his mischievous, fun loving, outgoing look on life.

“He was sensitive, confident and full of life. He brought joy to everyone who knew him.

“As a close family the tragic loss of my son, our brother, at such a young age, just turned 18, will be greatly felt.

“He will be so missed and our lives will never be the same.

“Words can’t describe the pain we feel at our loss but would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for the love and support shown at this sad time.

“See you soon then Lew Lew  (Lewis).
