Lincoln City supporters launch crowdfunder to keep knight at football ground

Lincoln City FC supporters have launched a crowd funding page to keep the Lincoln City Knight at their home ground.

The Lincoln City Knight, which has been signed by Danny and Nicky Cowley and victorious Lincoln City players from last season, will be up for sale alongside 36 other knights from the trail..

As previously reported, the 36 knights from the popular Lincoln Knights’ Trail will be auctioned on Saturday, September 30 from 6:45pm.

Members of the public and businesses will be able to bid for the horsemen that have protected the city since May.

Out of the money raised from the knights, two-thirds with go to the YMCA for a to help with their new project for the Nomad Trust with the other third going to the Art and Innovation fund for the City of Lincoln.

Tickets are priced at £15 each, which include a drink and canapés on arrival, and are available on the Visit Lincoln website.

Supporters posted on the fundraising page: “The Lincoln City Knight, donned his number 1 “Imp” shirt with prideand has his protective shield aptly sporting the signatures of both managers, Danny & Nicky Cowley and of course the players themselves.

“Help us keep the Lincoln City Knight at home!

“There’s no better home for an Imp than at Sincil Bank, the home of Lincoln City Football Club.”
