Two Lincolnshire roads closed after trees fall down in Storm Aileen

This comes as many homes woke up with no power this morning.

Two roads in Lincolnshire are currently closed due to trees being brought down by the gales of Storm Aileen overnight.

Roman Bank in Stamford and Willington Road in Kirton near Boston are both currently closed, Lincolnshire Police have confirmed.

The Met Office issued an amber weather warning for the first six hours of Wednesday, September 13, with gusts of over 75mph predicted.

Furthermore, nearly 1,200 homes woke up with no power this morning due to the winds.

Philip McAllister tweeted an image of the Willington Road in Kirton which shows a fallen tree with Highway Maintenance attending to the scene.

It is unclear when the roads will reopen.
