Gainsborough singer misses out on X Factor live shows, but could be set for shock return

You have until 1pm today to keep Jack & Joel in the competition.

Gainsborough man Jack Remington and bandmate Joel Fishel missed out on a place on X Factor live shows last night after failing to impress Simon Cowell, but could yet be saved by the public.

The duo Jack & Joel performed a medley of Pink’s Get The Party Started and Missy Elliott’s Get Your Freak On.

Despite their valiant efforts, the pair failed to make Cowell’s final three to progress into the next round.

When finding out their fate, Simon told the duo: “I think the public will really like you, and I think they will really want to see you through to the live shows, but the problem I have is that there’s only three artists I can put through.

“I’ve made a decision guys and I’m afraid it’s bad news. You didn’t make it.”

However, it is not all doom and gloom for the boys as they are now vying for a Wildcard spot for this Saturday’s show (October 28).

The Wildcard spot allows one of the three rejected acts from each category – Boys, Girls, Groups and the Overs – to be given a place in the live shows.
