Popular Lincoln bar closed for £60k refurb

The bar closed on Sunday.

Australian-themed chain bar Walkabout on Lincoln High Street will be closed until Wednesday evening as it undergoes a refurbishment worth over £60,000.

The popular pub and restaurant closed on Sunday, October 22 at 8pm and will reopen on Wednesday, October 25 at 8pm for the Freak Show Halloween Party.

A brand new bar, new furniture and “arty improvements” to the bathrooms will occur during the revamp.

The refurbishment comes after Stonegate Pubs took over some Walkabout pubs. The company is giving the Lincoln bar a facelift.

Rachael Hamilton from Walkabout Lincoln told The Lincolnite: “There’s not a huge amount that customers will immediately notice but staff are going to love the new layout of the bar and hopefully so will the customers.

“Since we have been bought out by Stonegate have been investing in refurbishments at Walkabouts across the country and we’re one of them.”

Further refurbishment works are expected in the New Year.
