Gainsborough teen seriously injured after car crashes into road sign in village

Emergency services were called to the scene.

A 19-year-old Gainsborough man is in hospital with serious injuries after a car crashed into a road sign.

The Renault Clio crashed on the A156 High Street in the village of Marton at around 8.30pm on Tuesday, October 10.

No other vehicles were involved.

Fire crews from Gainsborough and Saxilby were called to the scene to rescue the driver.

The teenager was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham with serious, but not life-threatening injuries.
