Temporary traffic lights on A158 Horncastle for electricity network upgrades

This could cause significant travel disruption.

Western Power Distribution contractors will be carrying out electricity network upgrades in Horncastle from next week, with motorists warned to expect delays on the A158.

The laying of cable along the A158 East Street from the junction with Stanhope Road to the junction with Foundry Street will start on Monday, October 16.

Manually controlled stop-go boards will be used to control traffic flow during weekdays, with temporary traffic lights in place overnight.

Work will only take place during the week, with the road returning to normal at weekends.

In addition, on Monday, October 30, Lincolnshire County Council will be carrying out works at the A158/West Street junction, which will see the permanent lights turned off and replaced with temporary lights for the day.

Work on the A158 should be complete by November 3 and the electricity network should be upgraded in the town by December.
