Met Office forecasters say the western half of Lincolnshire will see heavy snow on Sunday.

Some 10cm of snow look likely quite widely within the warning area, with 15-20 cm in places.

Saturday temperatures won’t budge over 3°C across most of the county, with -2°C forecast overnight into Sunday, when highs of no more than 1°C are expected.

The weather alert in Wales, the Midlands and Northern England has now been upgraded to amber – meaning travel disruption is likely.

The Met Office says there is increasing certainty in the track and location of the heaviest snows and Lincoln is in the affected area.
