Ice rink and winter wonderland comes to Lincoln

The ice rink and wonderland were only here for this weekend.

People of Lincoln have been enjoying an ice rink and winter wonderland in Boultham Park.

For this weekend only, Victorian-themed entertainment went on throughout the day, as well as a pop-up Santa’s grotto.

The 100m2 ice rink, which is open 9.30am until 4.30pm, proved to be very popular with locals as 30 minute sessions went on throughout the day.

This was the first major celebration since the £4million redevelopment project at Boultham Park, which included a new cafe and education centre.

Caroline Wallis, Community Development Worker for the Boultham Park Restoration Project, previously said: “We are so excited to be bringing an ice rink to Boultham Park this Christmas!

“This will be our first large event following the completion of the construction phase of the restoration project and we’d love to welcome everyone to the newly restored park for this fabulously festive weekend.

“We are also thrilled to have Anglian Water on board as sponsor of the rink. A major employer in Lincoln, we really value their support of our event and we’re proud to help promote their water saving message by using a synthetic ice rink.”
