Lincolnshire Police are urging residents to be extra vigilant and take additional care with their security after a spate of burglaries in the South Holland area.
Seven homes were broken into over a 24-hour period on Friday, December 8.
The burglaries happened in Pinchbeck, Surfleet, Moulton, Holbeach and Sutton St James.
Police believe the offences in Pinchbeck, Surfleet and Moulton may be linked.
A Lincolnshire Police spokesperson said: “A vehicle described as a ‘long dark and grey’ was seen to leave the scene of one of these incidents.
“This is a significant spike in burglaries and unusual for this area. We are investigating these crimes but please report any suspicious activity.
“Residents are encouraged to consider leaving lights on to indicate someone is home.”

As people prepare to go out more in the run up to Christmas, a Lincoln woman who created the globally renowned Ask For Angela not-for-profit scheme is proud to have made the county, and the world, a safer place.
The scheme, launched by Hayley Crawford (pictured above) in 2016, aims to ensure that anyone who is feeling vulnerable or unsafe is able to get the support they need. This could be on a night out, a date, meeting friends and other situations, and it is available to everyone of all genders to help them feel safer.
