What would you change about Lincoln?

A big response.

A post on social media has caused quite a stir in Lincoln when people were asked what they would change in the city.

Andy South told The Lincolnite he was pleased by the response to his question: ‘Name one thing you would change in/about Lincoln’ on Facebook group You’re Probably From Lincoln If… this week.

Residents in the area had a number of ideas, from reducing the number of traffic lights to installing a cable car on Steep Hill.

Andy told The Lincolnite: “I didn’t give an answer, I got wrapped up in seeing what every one else said, but I’d definitely go with re-thinking the traffic light timings around the entire city as a whole.

“The council say they are constantly monitoring all traffic lights but you have to ask yourself, is the statement fully accurate.”

You said:

Elaine Sturmey said: “Better bus services to the villages so more people could get into Lincoln.”

Pauline Cook added: “Make the bypass two lanes all the way round the city.”

James Bride commented: “A home for everyone.”

James Lynn said: “Stop freight trains passing through. There are alternatives. Traffic problems stop many companies investing in the city.”

And some of the lighter-hearted answers…

David Tomlinson said: “People moaning.”

John Walters added:

“A cable car up Steep Hill.”

Lewis Keilty commented: “I’d remove the 2nd L it’s pretty pointless.”
