Police have formally identified the body found in the River Witham as 25-year-old Michael Hull from Lincoln.
As reported previously, divers made the discovery on Monday, January 22 following a two day search for Michael.
Investigating officers said at the time they believed the body found was Michael’s. This was confirmed with a formal identification on the afternoon of Tuesday, January 23.
Flowers have been placed at the riverside in the area behind Gaunt Street where he was found, along with handwritten tributes and touching messages.
Hundreds of people have also paid tribute to the young Blue Lion Sunday League footballer on social media.
Michael first went missing after a night out in Lincoln. He had told friends he was heading home when he left Home nightclub just before 3am on Saturday.
Lincolnshire Police have said they are not treating the incident as suspicious.
