‘Don’t forget your handbrake’: Runaway car rolls down Steep Hill in Lincoln

Oops.

Police said it was fortunate no one was injured after a car rolled down Steep Hill in Lincoln and crashed into a building.

The incident happened at around 7pm on Sunday, January 29.

Police officers were called to recover the vehicle, believed to have been left without its handbrake on.

Lincoln South Policing team’s PCSO Watts posted on Twitter: “Managed to end up off ‘my patch’ again assisting a colleague.

“Lincolnshire Police would like to take the opportunity to remind drivers about the importance of using a vehicles hand brake when parking on a hill.

“Fortunately no persons were injured in this incident.”

It’s understood the runaway vehicle crashed into a building near to the top of Steep Hill before coming to a stop.

There was severe damage to the car.
