Man wearing woolly hat and tights over his head robs Cleethorpes newsagents

Police are appealing for witnesses.

A man wearing a woolly hat and a pair of tights over his head has robbed a newsagents in Cleethorpes.

Humberside Police are appealing for witnesses to the robbery which happened at Broughton’s News on Oxford Street at around 7.45pm on Saturday, January 20.

The suspect walked into the newsagents and threatened a female member of staff by asking for her to put money into a holdall he was carrying.

He then left with an amount of cash.

A police spokesperson said: “The suspect was wearing a woolly hat with a pair of tights over his head with eyeholes cut out.

“He was also wearing a scarf around the lower part of his face along with a grey Nike hooded top, grey tracksuit bottoms and white trainers.

“He’s been described as white, around 5ft 8ins, between 22 and 25-years-old and slim.

“If you saw what happened, saw the man or have any information please call 101 quoting log 469 of January 20.”
