Met Office issues weather warning for very strong winds in Lincoln this week

Forecasters are predicting strong winds for the county.

Very strong winds are set to batter the whole of Lincolnshire on Wednesday and into Thursday morning, with the chance of some snow before this on Tuesday.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for wind valid from 9pm on Wednesday, January 17 until 1pm on Thursday, January 18.

Forecasters have said that the strongest winds are set to transfer eastwards before clearing by early afternoon.

Motorists are being warned to expect some longer journey times, and power cuts may also occur.

The Met Office has added that injuries and danger to life from flying debris are possible, along with damage to buildings.

Before then, some parts of the county could see snow fall on Tuesday, especially during the rush-hour period in the morning and later in the evening.

Temperatures tomorrow will only reach highs of 4°C to 5°C so wrap up warm.
