Police guard Grimsby shop after robbery

The incident happened early in the morning.

Police have been called to a shop in Grimsby this morning following reports of a robbery.

The incident happened at around 6.15am on Monday, January 8 at the McColl’s shop on Gunner’s Way in the Laceby Acres area of the town.

Two men are believed to have entered the shop and threatened a staff member before stealing money and a number of items.

A spokesperson for Humberside Police said: “We were called shortly after 6.15am today following reports of a robbery at a shop off Broadway in Grimsby.

“It was reported that two men entered the store and threatened a member of staff before stealing money and items and leaving on foot.

“An investigation is underway and anyone with any information is encouraged to call 101 quoting log 54 of 08/01/17 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
