West Lindsey District Council votes to get rid of chief executive role

A new management structure.

West Lindsey district councillors have voted to remove the role of chief executive and create a new management structure at the authority.

The council has been without a chief executive since Manjeet Gill stepped down from the position in the summer of 2017, after seven years at the helm.

Mark Sturgess, who was been appointed executive director of operations, now holds the post of head of paid service.

Ian Knowles has been appointed to the position of executive director of resources, and holds the statutory role of section 151 officer, making him responsible for the authority’s financial affairs.

Eve Fawcett-Moralee, executive director of economic and commercial growth, will lead the delivery of the council’s growth agenda.

West Lindsey District Council has said that this move will save the authority money.
