Cars and bins burnt out in suspected Grimsby arson attack

Arsonist in Grimsby?

Four cars and a number of recycling bins were burnt out by a suspected arsonist in Grimsby in the early hours of the morning.

Police are looking to speak to a woman with a blonde ponytail who was seen in the area at the time.

The fires broke out in the East Marsh area between 12.55am and 1.30am.

Three of the cars targeted were parked on Bedford Street and a further car was set alight on Victor Street, along with recycling bins in Garibaldi Street.

The vehicles – a black Kia Carens, blue Kia Picanto, black Nissan Qashqai and white Ford Fiesta – suffered varying degrees of damage before the fires were extinguished by Humberside Fire and Rescue Service.

A Humberside Police spokesperson said: “We’re keen to speak to anyone with information about the incidents – particularly a woman with blonde hair which she wore in a ponytail, who was seen in the area at the time.

“She wore a short, light-coloured skirt and black leggings and was last seen heading towards Weelsby Street.
