Bonmarché to close in April to make way for new Lincoln boutique cinema

Say goodbye to Bonmarché.

The Lincoln branch of the clothing chain Bonmarché is closing its doors next month as preparation begins for a new independent boutique cinema and rooftop restaurant in the revamped Cornhill Quarter.

A poster in the store window confirms ladies fashion retailer Bonmarché will shut for the final time on Saturday, April 7, meaning the Whisby and Newark branches will now be the nearest for people in Lincoln.

As previously reported, a new independent boutique cinema and rooftop restaurant will take the space set to be vacated by Bonmarché.

Everyman Cinema, which has over 20 cinemas across the country, announced back in November 2017 that it would be the latest brand to enter the area.

The three-storey development will feature comfy sofa seating, a private screening lounge available to hire and also a bar selling wines and hand-rolled pizzas.

The cinema will join new stores already in the Cornhill Quarter area – Cosy Club, Moss Bros and Flying Tiger Copenhagen.
