Skegness gym to close for £155k revamp

The gym will be closed for the duration of the work.

Magna Vitae Trust will start work on a complete £155,000 redesign of its fitness suite in Skegness in early April.

Skegness Pool & Fitness Suite, based at Grand Parade, will benefit from state-of-the-art TechnoGym equipment in a redesigned single-floor space, with new private shower and changing facilities.

The gym will close on April 3 for the duration of the work, but the pool will remain open during that time.

The class programme will also continue as normal, but may be affected by changes at a later date.

A premier fitness suite in. Skegness is undergoing a £155,000 transformation.

The expected re-opening date will be in time for the spring bank holiday weekend on Monday, May 5 and current members are being informed of the revamp and will be able to use the trust’s other facilities free of charge.

The trust is also carrying out more than £30,000 of work at its Meridian Leisure Centre in Louth – with a dedicated spin room and virtual studio introduced, while its facility in Horncastle underwent a £130,000 revamp less than a year ago.

Trust Chief Executive Mark Humphreys said: “The world of fitness and health is ever-changing and as it does so, we are delighted to be moving forward with some of the latest equipment and techniques that you will find anywhere in the world.

“While we appreciate and apologise for the slight disruption for our members, we know that the results will be well worth it.”
