Elderly man dies in A1077 lorry crash

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

An elderly man has died after a crash involving a car and a lorry at the Winteringham crossroads on the A1077.

The 84-year-old local man died when his black Renault Megane car crashed with a white DAF heavy goods vehicle at 8.50am on Thursday, May 3.

The Renault Megane was said to be turning towards the village of Winteringham when the collision happened, police said.

Emergency services quickly attended, but sadly the elderly man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are investigating the circumstances of the crash and any witnesses to the incident should contact police on 101 quoting log number 99 of May 3.
