Lincoln Grand Prix: The ultimate guide

The Chestnut Homes Lincoln Grand Prix gets underway this weekend featuring two days of exciting amateur and professional races.

The Grand Prix is on Sunday, May 13 and is in its 63rd year, challenging elite male and female athletes to race the roads of the county and take on the infamous cobbles of Michealgate.

The races are also complimented by a Sportive the day before which welcomes riders of all levels to take on a mix of courses.


Wednesday, May 9 – Lincoln Bike Night

Mark Beaumont will be asking questions and talking about his career.

World-record-holding cyclist Mark Beaumont kicks of the festival with a special Q&A and a charity raffle.

Saturday, May 12 – The Lincoln Grand Prix Sportive

More than 1,000 cyclists from up and down the country will take part in an elite circuit through the hills of the Lincolnshire Wolds and into the winding streets of Lincoln. Riders of all abilities will complete routes ranging from 33 to 100 miles.

Sunday, May 13 – Lincoln Grand Prix

The Grand Prix is an elite race for which some of the UK’s top riders will descend. It starts and finishes in the shadow of Lincoln Castle.

  • When – Women’s race 9am – 12pm / Men’s race 1pm – 4.30pm

The following temporary road closures and parking restrictions will be in place on Sunday, May 13.

Arrangements will be controlled by stewards, who will allow access to properties when safe to do so.

Initial road closures will be installed at 8am until 5pm. Some will be in place all day and others will be rolling.
