Previous Mayor of Lincoln, Chris Burke, and executive councillors also attended.

Mayor Weaver said that is was “very surreal” to be elected and chose the Sea Cadets of the Brayford and Bracebridge Boxing Club as his charities.

“Being a Bracebridge lad, the boxing club had to be one charity,” he said.

“The Deputy Mayoress and myself last year went twice to sea cadets and were absolutely astounded with the precision of the marking of little ones right up to the adults.”
