Four fire and rescue crews rushed to the A180 after a tanker carrying 30,000 litres of waste cooking oil burst into flames.
The cab of the Adams & Green lorry caught fire between Barnetby Top and A160 Immingham during the morning of Monday, May 14, but the tanker and product were unaffected.
One of the A180 eastbound lanes remains closed at the time of publishing.
A Humberside Fire and Rescue spokesperson said there were no injuries and that the fire may have been mechanical or accidental, but nothing has been confirmed.
The four crews from Humberside Fire & Rescue have now left the scene and the cause of the fire is still being determined.
Humberside Police officers were called to the incident at around 11am and the road was initially closed for safety reasons while the blaze was brought under control by fire crews, police said.
