Attempted murder investigation after man hit by car

The B1166 is closed for most of the day

A woman in her 40s has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was hit by a car near Spalding overnight.

The incident involving a black Peugeot 307 happened on Common Drove near Ye Olde Bridge Inn in Crowland during the evening of Sunday, June 24.

The male victim, who is in his 40s, was critically injured in the incident and remains in a very serious condition in hospital.

The B1166 is closed and will be for the majority of Monday, June 25 with police advising motorists to use alternative routes.

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information or who was passing the location at around 8pm on Sunday to call 101 quoting incident number 398 of June 24.

Police are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who witnessed a woman wearing a black skirt and a black and white vest top or the black Peugeot 307.
