Fans speculate over new Lincoln City chairman

Who would you like to see take over?

Lincoln City fans have been speculating about who will take over from Bob Dorrian as the new chairman of the club.

As previously reported, Bob Dorrian, who took over as chairman in 2010, stepped down from his position at Lincoln City Football Club and Lincoln City Holdings on Monday.

He will remain as an Associate Director with the Imps.

The club confirmed a successor has already been elected and, although full details have yet to be announced, the new chairman could be revealed at some point this week.

Supporters have been speculating online, including in the Facebook group Lincoln City Banter and also on the Vital Lincoln City Forum.

Non Executive Director at Lincoln City Clive Nates has been mentioned by a number of fans as a possible candidate to take over.

The South Africa-based businessman invested a six-figure sum in the club through Sportvest Capital LLP back in 2016.

Mansfield Football Club’s CEO Carolyn Radford and former Leeds chairman Peter Risdale were among the other names to crop up in online discussions, along with Lincoln City director Roger Bates.

The one constant in all the speculation is the appreciation from Imps fans of the good job Bob Dorrian has done for the club.
