Man dies after crashing van into shop wall

The victim’s family are being supported by specialist officers

A 64-year-old man has died after a his van crashed with the front wall of a shop in a small North Lincolnshire town.

Emergency crews rushed to the scene at around 7.30am on Thursday, June 7 where a man was trying to park his white Peugeot Partner van on Market Street in Winterton.

As he was parking the vehicle mounted the kerb and collided with the front wall of a shop.

The driver was taken to hospital before he later died.

Police confirmed no other vehicles were involved in the incident and no-one else was hurt.

Humberside Police said: “His family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

“We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision or saw the van beforehand to contact us.”
