Body recovered from Spalding river

Search teams discovered a body

Lincolnshire Police have recovered a body from a river in Spalding on Sunday.

The Underwater Search Unit assisted police, Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue and the East Midlands Ambulance service following reports of a man in the water off Pecks Drove West.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene but police said they were no suspicious circumstances.

A spokesperson for the force said in a statement: “We were called at 4.29pm on Sunday, July 8 to Pecks Drove West/Clay Lake area of Spalding, to a report of a man in the river.

“His body was recovered from the water. Sadly, he was pronounced dead.

“There are no suspicious circumstances.”
