Second man dies after A1 Little Ponton lorry pile-up

A second man has sadly died

A second man has died following a crash involving three lorries on the A1 at Little Ponton near Grantham earlier this month.

Police confirmed the passenger in the white DAF lorry, who was from the London area and in his 50s, died on Wednesday, July 18 after weeks in hospital.

One man, also in his 50s and from the London area, in the cab of DAF lorry was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which happened at around 3.10pm on July 2 in held up traffic on the A1.

Two other heavy goods vehicles were involved, a black Volvo artic and a DAF white and red artic.

Two other people were taken to Peterborough Hospital for treatment.

Lincolnshire Police said the investigation into the collision is ongoing and any witnesses should call the 101 non-emergency number quoting incident 278 of July 2.
