Spanish restaurant to move into The Lawn

Popular tapas bar needs more space

The Olé Olé Tapas bar and restaurant in the Bailgate will move to bigger premises in The Lawn in Lincoln later this summer.

The Lawn asked for planning consent for some internal alterations to accommodate the restaurant in the former asylum building now owned by R W Stokes.

Olé Olé said it is relocating from its current eatery at 33 Bailgate to the larger premises due to high demand for its Spanish cuisine.

Nick Peel, Director of R W Stokes, purchased The Lawn site on Union Road in 2016.

The Lawn already includes a Stokes cafe, theatre, function rooms, offices, a barista training centre and roastery for the firm.

A spokesperson for Olé Olé Tapas said: “We are excited to announce that the Olé Olé Tapas family will be relocating to The Lawn within the next couple of months.

“This is due to high demands in our current location.

“The Lawn will grant us with a larger space for a new vibrant bar and much bigger kitchen, which will allow us to cater for the current high demand.”

Olé Olé opened in Lincoln in 2013 and in ranked no 9 of 390 restaurants in the city on TripAdvisor.
