Elderly woman dies after serious A17 crash

Police extended their appeal for witnesses.

A woman in her 80s from the Spalding area has died after a crash on the A17 at Swineshead.

As reported previously, the elderly casualty was one of four injured in the collision at around 12.15pm on Wednesday, August 29.

It involved white Mercedes Benz van and a silver Citroen Xsara, both travelling northbound, at the junction with Villa Lane.

Two people suffered minor injures and one other victim was taken to Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham in a ‘very serious’ condition.

Lincolnshire Police confirmed on the morning of Friday, August 31 that the woman who lost her life had been a passenger in the Citroen Xsara.

Investigating officers renewed their appeal for witnesses, including those with dashcams, to get in touch by calling 101.
