Taste of Lincolnshire food festival cancelled suddenly

Next week’s festival has been cancelled.

The first Taste of Lincolnshire food festival set to take place next week has been cancelled.

Food lovers were expected to flock to the Lincolnshire Showground on September 8 and 9.

A notice has been posted on the event website putting the cancellation down to “unforeseen circumstances”.

The new festival was advertised as featuring more than 100 food producers with names like TV’s Dean Edwards, Molly Robbins and Lincolnshire Chef Steve Bennett.

It would have also featured a chilli eating contest, gin making workshops and entertainment from children’s TV presenter ‘Mr Bloom’.

A spokesperson for the company behind the event posted: “We are regretfully having to cancel the Taste of Lincolnshire event on Sept 8 and 9 2018.

“Due to unforeseen circumstances the show will not be going ahead this year.

“We would like to apologise to all involved and to the public.

“We are extremely disappointed and hopefully we can look at Another date in 2019.”

Customers with pre-bought tickets have been promised a full refund.
