Lincoln has been bustling over the past few days as more than 16,000 students return to the city’s two universities.
Events are happening all over and both new and returning students are getting stuck into the Lincoln life, turning the city into a hive of activity.
The Lincolnite spoke to University of Lincoln students to see what they’ve been up to in their first days in the term calendar.
Plenty of the new students are excited about the club nights they’re planning to go to. Some returning students said how they’re taking it “a little slower” this year.
One thing they all agree on however, is how they’re enjoying seeing the city come back to life. Eloise James, a first year student, describes Lincoln as “a family city.” Whilst Oli Cox, a third year, said “it’s nice to see the city buzzing again.”
One big event happening this week is Lincoln student union’s societies fayre. Over 5,000 of Lincoln’s students got involved in societies last year and students this year seem to be keeping that enthusiasm going. With their interests ranging from women’s rugby union all the way to musical theatre.
If you’re a new student and looking for things to get up to, The Lincolnite has got you covered with our ‘New students guide to Lincoln’.
